Responsibilities may vary according to department assigned.
This class works under close supervision according to set procedures.
Duties and Responsibilities The functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this position.
Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the position as necessary.
Greet incoming visitors.
Assist the public by telephone.
Responds to customers by providing routine information, answering questions and referring customers to appropriate resources.
Maintain confidentiality.
Provide general office administrative support as directed.
Cashier transactions and balancing of individual cash drawer and receipts.
Organize, maintain, and enter files and documents into the computer.
Provide excellent customer service.
Examines deeds, plats, mortgages, and other legal documents obtained at the counter and through the mail to determine if they are in compliance with the various federal and state codes.
Records deeds, plats, mortgages, and other legal documents for public records.
Perform other duties and related work as instructed and assigned.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
Requires High School graduation or GED equivalent.
Requires (1) one year of clerical or office and office equipment experience.
Able to utilize copier machine to copy, fax, scan, computers, calculators etc.
One (1) or more years in Microsoft Office Suite.
Special Certifications and Licenses:
None.
Reasoning Ability, Mathematical and Language Skills:
Technically savvy and experience with various systems.
Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize in order to meet short deadlines.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to assist with behavioral based interviewing.
Excellent listening and interpersonal skills.
Must have the adaptability and flexibility to change dependent upon the environment.
Must be comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and have the ability to exhibit professional maturity.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Physical Demands:
Performs sedentary work that involves walking or standing some of the time and involves exerting up to 10 pounds of force on a regular and recurring basis or sustained keyboard operations.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
