4K - $106K a year South Carolina State University is seeking dynamic fundraising professional to drive fundraising strategy and initiatives for the institution.
Reporting to the Vice President for Institutional Advancement and External Affairs, the EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR FOR DEVELOPMENT, in tandem with the Vice President, will work closely with the University's President and his executive leadership team; playing a key role in the execution of the university's long-range strategic plan for financial sustainability.
As a member of senior management in the Division of Institutional Advancement and External Affairs, the incumbent will lead a team of development professionals and will interface with both internal and external constituents with a focus on fundraising and cultivating relationships.
He/She will be responsible for planning and implementing strategies to secure donors and contributions in support of the university, provide oversight of fund development programs, monitor development activities, and foster a culture of philanthropy across university departments and with university stakeholders.
Areas of oversight include alumni relations, annual giving, planned giving, corporate and foundation relations, major gifts and college-based development programs.
The successful applicant should have a proven track record as an experienced fundraising and organizational development specialist and have experience in managing a non-profit organization or similar environment.
He/She must be a highly motivated self-starter with superior written and oral communication skills, the ability to solve complex problems and have a passion for philanthropy.
Experience planning and executing capital campaigns for complex organizations.
Demonstrated experience in successful fundraising campaigns and activities Planning and implementation of long and short-range strategic plans Identifying and addressing development issues that impact the organization.
Ability to foster a culture of philanthropy and ensure that fund development is executed in keeping with the university's values, and strategic direction Establish a balanced mix of donor sources and fundraising programs to attract and retain donors and fundraising volunteers.
Establish performance measures, monitor results, and evaluate the efficacy of the fund development program.
Maintain accountability and ensure compliance with all regulations and laws, as well as the code of ethics for fundraising professionals.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
