9K a year Collects and compiles data and operates a computer in performance of routine clerical duties to maintain business records and reports by performing the following duties.
Duties and Responsibilities The functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this position.
Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the position as necessary.
Visits, inspects and collects data for real property and mobiles as assigned by the appraiser they are assisting.
Answers telephones.
Assist taxpayers and other customers with property inquiries.
Directs customer needs to the proper department.
Analyzes data to ensure the information is correct.
Complete address changes in Manatron.
Process agriculture applications and general inquiries.
Field inspections as necessary.
Understands the Policy and Procedures of the Tax Assessor's office including the South Carolina laws that govern the Tax Assessor's office.
Assists the Appraisal department locating mobile homes, measuring real property improvements and gathering all information for the appraisal process through site visits.
Conducts various tasks including using a computer to assist appraisers in completing projects.
Perform other duties and related work as instructed and assigned.
Supervisory Functions:
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
High School Diploma or general education degree (GED); or two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Certifications and Licenses:
South Carolina driver's license Reasoning Ability, Mathematical and Language Skills:
Ability to define problems, collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical of diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area circumference, and volume.
Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
